AIR-CONTROL, THROTTLING AND SHUT-OFF DAMPERS

Regulating dampers are essential components in modern ventilation systems, enabling precise airflow control. Various types are available, including standard louver dampers classified according to EN 1751, airtight louver dampers according to DIN 1946 T4, dampers with damping frames to compensate for structure-borne noise, louver dampers with integrated weather protection grilles, and positive pressure louver dampers with self-opening louvers. This variety allows for optimal coverage of diverse requirements and environments. The selection of the appropriate type depends on the specific requirements of the application.

Various materials are available for the frame and louvers, such as galvanized steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. Likewise, different temperature ranges from -40°C to +200°C and various sealing classes can be supplied, depending on the requirements. Higher sealing classes are achieved through rubber lip seals and side seals in different variations.

Slats are available in widths from 50 mm to 165 mm to optimally cover all size ranges, from mini blinds to XXL flaps. The installation depths also vary, ranging from 65 to 180 mm.

The surrounding frame is suitable for mounting on all common air duct profiles.

Louvered dampers can be designed with opposing or co-rotating slats and, depending on the type, can also be used in potentially explosive atmospheres (ATEX).

The drive can be internal or external via gears, or as a linkage drive. Adjustment or control can be achieved via a manual lever, various actuators, or a pneumatic drive.

However, overpressure louvers made of aluminum with various frames are also available, such as ducted, discharge, or intake configurations. When the system is running, the airflow holds the louvers in the OPEN position. When the system is switched off, the aluminum louvers close automatically. The individual louvers can be connected via a linkage.

How to find the right size

The selection of the appropriate louver damper is made via a selection diagram in the catalog or with the help of our sales representatives, who are happy to provide advice.

Thanks to flexible manufacturing, all intermediate dimensions in width and height are available at no extra charge – ideal for individual installation situations.
